Cette troisième édition des Annales de l'Architecture en Flandre, 1996-1997, publiées par le Ministère de la Communauté flamande, passe en revue les récentes évolutions de l'architecture et l'urbanisme en Flandre et à Bruxelles. En guise d'introduction, une série d'articles présentent une vision critique sur la situation actuelle en mettant en exergue le rôle de l'architecture en matière d'urbanisme, de logement social, de commandes publiques et la politique communale. La partie centrale de cet ouvrage consiste en une série de projets réalisés en 1996 et 1997, qu'il s'agisse de rénovations intérieures à petite échelle ou de grands immeubles de bureaux. Enfin, cet ouvrage contient également une liste des expositions, publications et prix d'architecture au cours de la période considérée.
